May marked a significant milestone for Grade 12 students across the Ðǿմ«Ã½ (TDSB) as they challenged the DELF Exams (Diplôme d’études en langue française), an internationally recognized assessment that provides accreditation of French language proficiency in four key areas: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students who are successful on the proficiency test will receive a DELF certificate issued by the France Education International (FEI) through the Ontario DELF Centre, who supports the TDSB French department with this initiative.
Overall, across the TDSB there has been an increase in enthusiasm and interest in the DELF, with registrations increasing 29% on average per year since 2014. We are thrilled that a record number of students took part in the DELF exams this year and commend each of the 246 TDSB students for their accomplishments and continued engagement and excellence in additional language learning.
